Scenery “Like the Rain”

- Scenery by Vitoria Biagiolli and Jonathan Andrade.

“The scenario of “Like the Rain” was based on the story of the play, which takes place in an extremely poor environment.

The choice to compose the scene with realistic elements (walls, old water purifier, altar, cups, bottles etc.) reinforces the principle of naturalness and everyday life, which also guides the interpretation of the actors. The scenario was created from research on housing and alternative materials such as trash, wooden boxes, cardboard and old furniture. The whole scenario looks worn and aged. The presence of leaks throughout the house, while brings the rain into the set, converses with the metaphor of a frayed relationship.

The pieces were carefully constructed and composed to form an environment in order to show the social condition of the characters.

The poetics of the scenario takes place in contaminating those elements in detail and lyrics that reflect not only the financial condition of the characters, but also on the lack of communication between them. ” VitoriaBiagiolli and Jonathan Andrade/2006
